Picture Of NY Giants Jason Pierre-Paul’s Hand After He Blew Off Two Fingers & His Thumb In Fireworks Accident
NY Giants, defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul, 26, lost almost all of his index finger and severely damaged his thumb and middle finger during a 4th July fireworks accident.
This week he signed a one-year contract that guarantees him $1.5m, which could raise as high as $8.71m from incentives such as playing time and sacks.
He had a $60 million dollar guaranteed contract offer waiting for him to sign, but that contract disappeared once he injured himself. A $58.5 million dollar mistake.
Jason said he was not embarrassed by the accident and that he’s not trying to prove anybody wrong with his comeback. The defensive end said he just considers himself lucky to be alive and have a second chance to play football.
He says he’s still not 100% but expects to be playing within the next couple of weeks.
