Dolce & Gabbana Sentenced To 18 Months In Prison For Tax Evasion

Dolce and Gabbana have been sentenced to one year and six months in prison each for tax evasion charges. Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana along with their accountant Luciano Patellito were found guilty by an Italian Appeals Court and sentenced. The court upheld the June 2013 guilty charges stemming from their arrest for avoiding approximately $1 billion in taxes after their sale of their companies Dolce & Gabbana and D&G to Luxembourg holding company.

Their previous ruling included fines of $20 million dollars and twenty-month jail sentences. Because their sentencing is below Italy’s minimum sentencing requirements, Dolce and Gabbana will not have to serve any jail time. What are your thoughts? Post your comments below.
