Halle Berry and husband Olivier Martinez have named their son Maceo Robert Martinez.
“They chose it because it means gift from God. Olivier wanted to give a nod to his Spanish roots. They picked the name a while ago, they love it,” a source tells E! News
Berry and Martinez welcomed their son on Saturday at Cedars Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles. Maceo is Berry’s second child and Martinez’s first. Berry has 5-year-old daughter Nahla from her previous relationship with ex Gabriel Aubrey.
Maceo a boys name, is pronounced as MAHSIYOW. Maceo is primarily used in the English and Italian languages. It is of Hebrew origin. Maceo is a form of the Italian and Spanish name Matteo.
Maceo is an unusual baby boy name. The name was popular in the 9th through the 14th century. Its usage peaked modestly in 1909 with 0.006% of baby boys being given the name Maceo. It was #934 in rank then. The baby name has declined in popularity since then, and is now used on a very light scale.
Olivier’s dad is Spanish. As for Robert that’s the first name of Olivier’s dad. Maceo is a form of Matthew. We think the name is lovely. What are your thoughts? Post your comments below.
