The actor known for starring in The Shield, Michael Jace called 911 and told police ‘I shot my wife’ after allegedly pulling the trigger on his 40-year-old wife at their Los Angeles mansion Monday night, while their children were home.
Michael, 48, called police after the shooting around 8:30pm PST., TMZ cited law enforcement sources, that Michael confessed that he was responsible.
Police had received reports from neighbors previously in the Hyde Park area that shots had been fired inside the property. The actor remained on the phone, as instructed by dispatchers, until LAPD arrived.
When officers entered the home they found Michael wife, April Jace, the mother-of-three, dead from gunshot wounds and Michael was taken into custody for questioning.
Police also confirm that children were in the home at the time of the shooting. The children both under the age of 10 were obviously extremely upset and taken to the police station. TMZ also alleges that it took Children’s Services 4 hours to get to the station and take the children to the home of a family member
Michael was first being questioned by detectives. The photo below shows the face of a distraught man talking to an officer.
According to the Los Angeles Times police detectives with the 77th division are determining whether the shooting was an accident or a homicide.
