Creator of Love & Hip Hop, Mona Scott-Young spoke to VladTV on the red carpet of her Monami Holiday Celebration, where she shared her thoughts on the firing of Love & Hip Hop Atlanta’s Benzino, fiancee Althea, and Love & Hip Hop Hollywood’s Yung Berg, who was recently let go after accusations of abuse against castmate and girlfriend Masika Tucker went public.
Unlike the cast members she’s hired throughout the show’s various franchises, Mona Scott-Young prefers not to air out her feelings on social media, which is why many fans of the show are still wondering how she came to the decision to let these castmates go. When it comes to Benzino and Althea, Mona feels the Hip Hop Weekly editor knows why he was let go and wishes him and Althea the best. Letting go of Yung Berg, however, she reveals was a network decision made by VH1.
