So, did you know Da Brat was in prison? Well neither did I. Apparently she was. Shortly after her release she stopped over to June Ambrose. The Brat is working on new music and needs a new look to go along with her comeback. Having gained a few pounds and being known for her masculine style, Da Brat is definitely in need of a trip to the Junieverse to bring out the “Best of both girls” as she likes to call it while still being a PYT – Pretty Young Thug. Let the resurrection begin.
Of course June meets with the team to discuss the 3 point plan. June creates her signature 3 point plan to assist Da Brat in her transformation. First, June wants to bring out the femininity that Da Brat is hiding starting with getting her into a pair of heels as Step 1 of the process. Of course, this poses a problem, because just as I can’t see Da Brat in a pair of Giuseppe Zanotti heelless wedges, neither can she.
As always there is a Rachel mishap. This week Rachel can’t seem to get it right with her accessory pull for the client. Oops.
Next, time to “de throne the doorag” and get Da Brat ready for the red carpet. Da Brat gets a new do minus the braids, 90’s afro puff and bandana. To complete the red carpet look June and friends pull some looks that Da Brat is not too happy about. Eventually Da Brat gives into June’s final look of a leather jacket, kilt and lace up boots.
Final step in June’s process is to pull off a Fantasy photo-shoot. Not quite sure where the inspiration comes from for this one but as the shoot progresses Da Brat starts goes from a baby doll with pigtails, to a sleek fashionista and eventually a flat black and gold wearing Queen.
All in all Da Brat walked away pleased vowing that we will see more of the “Best of both girls” as she continues her transformation and comeback.
Stay tuned next week as June makes over Michelle Williams from Destiny Child.
