Devoted Husband Who Stood On Street With Sign Appealing To Strangers To Donate Kidneys To Wife Finds Donor
Back in June of this year we reported that devoted husband, Larry Swilling was walking the streets of his area with a sandwich board attached to his body, looking for a donor for his wife, Jimmie-Sue who needed a kidney. We are happy to announce a kidney has been found for his Jimmie-Sue.
The story made headlines the world over, after walked 250 miles, showing his devotion to his wife of 57 years, Jimmie Sue.
Jimmie Sue Swilling (pictured below with tear husband Larry) was only born with one kidney, and it has been failing. Her husband promised her he’d find her a kidney, carrying signs and even posting his plea on his pickup truck. Larry Swillings said The Medical University of South Carolina have found a donor.
“I knew it was going to happen because I know him. He wouldn’t have stopped until he got me one.” said Jimmie Sue Swillings.
No info is available about the donor, but the Swillings believe it’s someone who was tested for donation after someone saw their story.
“(The donor) retired out of services, and she’s in Virginia Beach. That’s all we know,” Jimmie Sue Swilling said.
They are due in Charleston next week, where final testing will take place. If all goes well, the surgery could take place Sept. 12. This is a wonderful update to a heartwarming story. What are your thoughts? Post your comments below.
