Last week, Nick Cannon hinted that he got the role of Richard Pryor in the upcoming biopic directed by Lee Daniel’s (Precious, The Butler).
Richard Pryor’s widow says Nick Cannon has not been cast to play the legendary comedian in the movie, but she wants Terrence Howard to play the coveted role.
Jennifer Pryor who has a role in production tells TMZ that Nick may have spoken too soon, when he hinted he had the part, director, Lee Daniels, is still auditioning.
Jennifer says Terrence “is perfect, an intense, brilliant actor”, who believes has the experience for acting and comedy. But she’d want him to lose some weight.
Jennifer also states that Marlon Wayans, SNL’s Jay Pharoah and Mike Epps are being considered for the role.
Richard’s children, Richard Pryor Jr. and Rain Pryor, want Marlon to play their father. They do not get along with Jennifer, who was married to Richard twice. They’ve accused her of turning the film into a vanity project.
