A lawyer for the family of a man, who died outside the Moore Warren Movie Theater while in police custody, has released a video of the incident. Luis Rodriguez died earlier this month after a confrontation with police outside the theater in Moore.

The video shows 44-year-old Luis Rodriguez on his stomach on the ground outside the theater with five police officers restraining him. One officer holds Rodriguez’s head down and the others are on top of him as they handcuff his hands behind his back. Rodriguez’s wife, who shot the video, is later heard screaming and asking if Rodriguez is dead as he is placed on a stretcher.

Luis Rodriguez died after being held down by five policemen in the Oklahoma City suburb of Moore.

His distraught wife, who is recording the takedown on her cellphone, can be heard screaming, “You kill him! You kill him! You killed my husband!”

Three officers have been placed on administrative leave following the disturbance outside a movie theater earlier this month.
Attorney Michael Brooks-Jimenez told reporters Tuesday that Luis did nothing wrong. Family members also appeared, but answered no questions.

“Luis committed no crime. He wasn’t armed. No gun. No knife. No weapon of any kind,” the lawyer said.

“But Luis is the one who lost his life that night,” he said.

Moore Police Chief Jerry Stillings said last week that police responded to a domestic disturbance complaint and tried to question Rodriguez but he was uncooperative. He was pepper-sprayed and restrained with two sets of handcuffs, Stillings said.

The wife can be heard telling officers her husband is not violent and the trouble had been between her and the couple’s 19-year-old daughter. She admits to striking the girl.

The Oklahoma State of Investigation has taken over the investigation. An autopsy is pending.
