Fox contributor Stacey Dash talked with Steve Doocy today on Fox & Friends, and said it was, “ludicrous” that people were getting upset with the Oscar awards for not nominating any Black actors in the main categories for the second year running..
Spike Lee and Jada Pinkett Smith started the ball rolling by boycotting the awards ceremony that will air next month.
“We have to make up our minds. Either we want to have segregation or integration, and if we don’t want segregation, then we have to get rid of channels like BET and the BET Awards and the Image Awards, where you’re only awarded if you’re black. If it were the other way around, we’d be up in arms. It’s a double standard. There shouldn’t be a black history month. We’re Americans, period.”
Steve asked her to clarify, “Are you saying there shouldn’t be a Black History Month because there isn’t a White History Month?”
“Exactly,” Stacey responded. Stacey continued and said there weren’t, “very many roles for people of color” in Hollywood. “How can that be? And why is that just now being addressed? The good news is that there’s attention brought to it now. But like I said, over the past eight years we’ve had a president who is black, who gets his funding mainly from Hollywood, the elite liberals, so it’s odd to me that this has now become such an issue.”
Bet responded with a gif from the movie, Clueless which Stacey starred in 21 years ago.
