Talia Joy Catellano August 18th, 1999 – July 16th 2013
Talia was first diagnosed with stage four neuroblastoma cancer, a tumor that develops from nerve tissue in infants and children, on Valentine’s Day in 2007 when she was just seven years old.
Following chemotherapy, surgery and radiation she was cancer-free for one year but in September 2008 doctors found the disease had spread to a small lymph node near her heart.
When Talia Castellano was featured on the Ellen Degeneres show last year, America fell in love with the bald, outgoing, girl who didn’t allow her cancer to make her a victim. The famous Youtube star for her makeup tutorials vowed to fight and beat cancer and fulfill her dream of being a celebrity make up one day. She was even featured as an honorary CoverGirl with Ellen presenting her with her face on the cover.
Sadly, Talia was hospitalized six months ago with a grim diagnosis of terminal cancer. Doctors said there was nothing else they could do but Talia still did Youtube tutorials from her hospital bed and spoke to fans. America joined together with signs on Instagram “fight for Talia” and “pray for Talia.” But Talia took a turn for the worse when she spiked a fever and needed platelets earlier this week and today her official Facebook page released the saddest news ever, Talia has lost her fight to cancer and gained her angel wings this morning at 11:22 AM.
Our condolences go out to the Castellano family. Talia has touched many lives for the better.
